Race report by Andrew Bardetta
The 2018 NSW State Championships were hosted by the NSWRCRCC Inc at the John Grant International Raceway. In 1/10th Nitro it was Jeff Hamon that would take the TQ, Andrew Bardetta in 2nd, David Chen 3rd and up and coming young racer Brayden Stanley in 4th taking the last automatic qualifying position for the A final.

They were joined in the final by Alex Koussas, Tim Moylan, Dustin Fletcher, George Karozis, Michael Rumiz and John Germanos who bumped up from the 2 Semi Finals.

At the start of the final it was Hamon, Bardetta and Chen that got away cleanly, while there was some carnage further back in the pack. Chen moved up to 2nd and then into the lead with Hamon on his tail. Moylan was in 3rd with Bardetta right behind him. Chen ran out of fuel before the 10 min mark. Hamon was now leading and Bardetta moved up to 2nd with Moylan now applying the pressure to regain the spot. Hamon had an engine flame out with 7mins to go which moved Bardetta into the lead with Moylan only a couple of seconds behind. Hamon dropped back to 3rd and ran out of fuel again with 30 secs to go after battling back up to 2nd place. Bardetta took the win and the NSW State Title, Moylan 2nd and Hamon 3rd.
